Radio interview with Florida CB Jalen Tabor didn’t go too well

In this episode of “Braden and Childers,” Athlon Sports’ Braden Gall and SiriusXM’s Chris Childers give us a look back at the week that was SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala. The guys discuss the news, or lack thereof, during the four-day event.

We also get to hear a first-hand account of Florida cornerback Jalen Tabor’s recent visit to New York and his media tour in the Big Apple. Tabor stopped by SiriusXM Satellite Radio studios and joined the “Full Ride” show with Childers and Rick Neuheisel.

Childers didn't know Tabor was going to be a guest.

"I'm a little confused as to why this guy is sitting in our studio all day, talking to everybody and talking about the season when he's still in college," Childers said. “He’s a great player, but he's still in college. They just had three guys represent them (at SEC Media Days). He's like, 'I didn't get invited to media days because I'm not a senior. But Coach (Jim) McElwain said I could have a media day today.'

"I'm like, 'None of this makes sense.' "

Childers said he was excited about the chance to interview Tabor. Alas, Childers said the interview was like "interviewing a piece of toast."

At SEC Media Days, Gall said he was most impressed by LSU running back Leonard Fournette.

The duo also noted that we're less than two weeks away from the start of fall camp. Thankfully, they point out, that will be the end of "talking season" and the real season begins.
