The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Bonner gives Ole Miss its 15th commitment in its 2017 class, which 247Sports ranks ninth in the SEC and 21st nationally. He joins three other defensive end prospects in the Rebels’ class, including three-star Rasool Clemons, who also plays for East Mississippi Community College.
Bonner, a Demopolis, Alabama native, signed with Louisville out of high school in the 2015 class, but soon transferred in October of his first season with the Cardinals. He is expected to enroll at Ole Miss next May and have three years of eligibility remaining.
Bonner, who has six other offers including Texas A&M, Indiana and Iowa State, is ranked as the No. 7 weak-side defensive end nationally, according to 247Sports Composite. At Demopolis High in Alabama, he had 11 total offers and was also a three-star recruiter.
Ole Miss defensive line coach Chris Kiffin and running backs coach Derrick Nix are Bonner’s primary and secondary recruiters, respectively.
